Short Term Weight Loss is a Good Starting Point…
but Balanced Weight Management After Dieting Should be Your Ultimate Goal
There are 3 critical things to understand about weight loss that will help you maintain a stable weight after dieting:
- One of the greatest hazards of dieting is losing muscle mass along with fat.
- Muscle is required to burn calories. Therefore, when you decrease your muscle mass via dieting, you will have less muscle to burn calories after you return to your regular eating patterns. In other words, you will regain your lost weight. In fact, according to the National Institutes of Health, dieters regain almost all of their lost weight within 5 years after dieting.
- If you start dieting again you will lose yet more muscle, further inhibiting your ability to burn calories.
And thus the hopeless cycle of yo-yo dieting is set…unless you’ve chosen the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method.

“In today’s world we are battling the prevalent epidemic of obesity. For most it starts as being a little over weight, but as time goes on the weight goes up. It seems to be the natural course for many people and the implications are quite serious. As body weight goes up so does the risk of multiple medical problems. This includes diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and stroke – just to name a few. Obesity alters the body’s ability to function properly creating metabolic imbalances that only promote more weight gain, a vicious cycle. To add insult to injury, the psychological implications of being overweight or obese are too numerous to count.
“The American diet driven by a savvy food industry is without a doubt promoting the epidemic of obesity. Many diet plans are derailed by the marketing strategies of the food industry coupled with the readily available high carbohydrate, high fat and high sodium products we are bombarded with on a daily basis. On the other hand, It is astounding the number of efforts that have been made to achieve weight reduction. There are thousands of diets and hundreds of weight loss procedures, few of which actually address the underlying problem.
“As a physician, and Ideal Protein patient myself, I know this program works, and the science behind it. I’ve lost significant weight while following Protocol and know it’s that simple.
“I enjoy working with patients on Ideal Protein. I am happy to answer any medical questions for our dieters and cheer on their successes. As the overseeing physician, I make sure their health is improved with Ideal Protein and coordinate care with their own physician or provide specialty referrals if needed.
“I now have a real answer for patients that struggle with their weight and suffer medically and emotionally because of it.
